GAME OF THE MONTH COLLECTION!

GOLDENEYE 007

Artist touch: . Cover art rating: 8/10

(Nintendo/Rare, August 1997)

Month it won: 2007

Special note: .

Introduction and Story:
If there is one thing intelligent gamers should always be careful of is the dreaded movie to licensed video game. There are a few exceptions though. Here is one of the N64's biggest hits of all time and it was even better than the actual paint by the numbers movie it was based on believe it or not. See why Goldeneye 007 was both a great use of a popular movie license and why there has yet to be a better James Bond game out there in my opinion.

In this game you play as legendary British secret agent James Bond (played by none other then Pierce Bodman here).
Controls and Game Play:

Goldeneye is not your typical First Person Shooter here. Instead of controlling the usual steroid using madman looking for demon blood; you control the highly trained secret agent complete with some of the most sophisticated weapons and gargets in the world. Some of the objective based game play here can get annoying especially when you just kill stuff but it still adds some depth at least.

This game also has a fun series of multi-player games but playing too much of this game hurts my eyes a bit.

Graphics and Sounds:
The game also comes with some excellent graphics and sounds but where are the maps so you know where you're going here?
The Bottomline:

Despite how successful the game was it should be noted I don't think Nintendo or Rare will be upgrading this awesome game to any newer consoles any time soon so it should remands an N64 exclusive for now. The problem is Nintendo lost the 007 license to Electronic Arts just a year after this game. It was definitely a smart move from the bigwigs over at EA but they also create a lot of crappy titles like Tomorrow Never Dies and perhap one of the weakest video game sequel in history: Goldeneye Rogue Agent. What a bunch buttheads! Anyway if you are looking for a great action game with a indepth split screen multi-player then you have to check out the original Goldeneye 007.

Conclusion:
*Battery back up game
