OF THE MONTH COLLECTION! RAIDEN
(Hudson Soft/Seibu Kaihatsu, 1992)
The first and only 6 meg game for the Turbografx-16 is this extremely
hard but popular arcade shooter where a lone ship defends the earth from an alien
invasion. There are 8 intense stages filled with giant tanks, boats, and much more ready to shoot you down. I love the different power ups here since you can use your cannons and missiles at the same time and the graphics and sounds are
not too bad either but the only problem I have with the Turbo edition of Raiden
is that it's one player only and I could sure use some help here. For example: that boat
boss on level 3 alone is just way too cheap. If you love shooters Raiden is
a good choice but I would have rated this higher if there was some kind of options
menu and more modes.
