68 3D TETRIS (Nintendo, March 1996)
3D Tetris is a little complex for a Tetris game because of the whole 3D grid thing but it's still kind of cool too once the controls are mastered. Not a very forgiving game because the pieces continue to fall even when you need to adjust the view but the game is still above average.

GALACTIC PINBALL (Nintendo,
August 14, 1995)With 4 different gaming tables and great use of the 3D engine, I really got addicted to this Virtual Boy game fast. "It's not everyday that somebody says that somebody gets addictive to a VB game, eh?" If the good graphics and sound effects weren't enough but there is also a save feature built in to record high scores for better replay value and the controls are right on. I still recommend you take a break after a few minutes of playing as does Nintendo but I could still play the game for hours on end. It's the best video pinball game I've ever played. PERIOD!

48 GOLF (T & E soft, November 1995)
It's just not exciting or fun enough to be any real competition for a more polished golf game like Mario Golf or a Hot Shots Golf, although it does look nice for the leisure sports title and the pace isn't too bad anyway. Still this golf game could have been a lot better.

61 JACK BROS. (Altus, October 1995)
Jack Bros. is a basic overhead action game with a cute horror theme to it and in this weird title you choose from three different characters that are all named 'Jack'. The game is a little too linear and on the easy side too as you just go to point A to point B but it is still fun to play.

61 JACK BROS. (Altus, 1995)
*Japanese*
The Japanese edition is still just a basic overhead action game with a cute horror theme to it and a cool Japanese feel to it. Nothing has changed here, just the language is different of course and one of the Jack characters is actually called 'Jack the Ripper'.

53 KEMCO BASEBALL 95 (Kecmo, 1995)
*Japanese
This Baseball title is much more fun then the American version because of the sharper controls and more forgiving game play. This game uses Super Deformed characters and the controls are very easy to get into.

39 MARIO CLASH (Nintendo, October 1995)
It's the old, OLD Mario Bros. type game but now this is used in a semi 3D perspective. Why wasn't this a real Super Mario Bros. game on the Virtual Boy instead though? Some may like this action game because it still has a lot of usual trappings of this long running franchise but the single screen action is too basic for a Mario title so Mario Clash was really not the game I was hoping for.

59 MARIO TENNIS (Nintendo, October 1995)
It's a 3D tennis game! The game is nothing too special but it's easy to get into at least. Despite that you should stick with Mario Tennis 64 instead. I don't think it was a good idea for Nintendo to make this the pack in game for the Virtual Boy because people wanted a Super Mario World type of game instead.

50 NESTER'S FUNKY BOWLING (Nintendo, February 1996)
Funky Bowling is a cool looking but very basic bowling game, starring old Nester which some of you might remember has a character from the early Nintendo Power magazine series of comics. It's a fun enough title for what it is and the graphics are fairly decent too but the game play is very limited thanks to the limited options.

76 PANIC BOMBER (Nintendo/Hudson Soft, December 1995)
Think Puyo Puyo but with bombs and Bomberman characters and you get Panic Bomber here. One of the better Virtual Boy titles because of the addictive and easy to learn puzzle game play. The only bad thing about this puzzle game is that's way too short.

65 RED ALARM (Nintendo/T & E Soft, October 14, 1995)
This interesting 3D shooter exposes both the good and bad of the Virtual Boy. The bad part apart Red Alarm is that it has overly simple wireframe graphics and everything is done in unshaded red lines so it's very easy to get confused or lost. The good points here though is that the game is still very intense and the controls are a little awkward at first but they still work great here. Red Alarm is one of the better titles for the system but that isn't saying much.

37 TELEROBOXER (Nintendo, 1995)
Now here is a game I thought I would really like. Teleroboxer is a weird and very hard to control boxing game with robots fighting it out one on one. The game has fairly good graphics but it sounds and play terrible thanks to the slow punches. In the end it is not as good as Punch Out..... not by a long shot.

66 VERTICAL FORCE (Nintendo/Hudson Soft, 1995)
This one sounds cool! Vertical Force is a difficult but fun little shooter from the makers of the Star Soldier series. The 3D effects for this overhead game are a nice touch but they can also work against you thanks to the fast pace of the game. Still a fun shooter once you get the hang of it.

20 VIRTUAL BASEBALL (Nintendo/Kemco, 1995)
Too sim like for me and this game fails to be as good as the Japanese game. It's almost impossible to hit what is coming at you and you have worry about the unimaginative graphics here as well. I won't play this Baseball game ever again unless I'm forced to.

65 V-TETRIS (Nintendo, 1994)
*Japanese
It's good old Tetris, plain and simple. You know the deal: guide falling pieces down to form lines and get the high score but sadly there is no save feature here either for some reason. There is a new 3D mode but it's way too confusing to have any fun with because the length of the screen. Still it's Tetris on the Virtual Boy and you can go wrong with that.

80 WARIO LAND (Nintendo, 1995)
Although it sucks Nintendo didn't release a true Mario game for the VB here, Wario Land is a good looking and pretty fun action title starring Mario's arch rival in his very own game. The game is a very standard platformer with not too many levels available but it still has good graphics and the game still had a few challenging moments too.

31 WATER WORLD (Ocean,
1996)Waterworld is nothing more then a confusion third person shooter that's way too repetitive and only after a few levels. To survive in this Water World universe you need to blast away all the rival gangs that wish to control what's left of the earth but you can barely tell where your enemies are even attacking. What a disappointment considering the big budget Kevin Costner movie was so good, uh? Ha ha just kidding!
