45 CASTLEVANIA JUDGMENT (Konami, 2008)

I love me some Castlevania! You know the deal: heroes and or anti-heroes go after Count Dracula to save the world from his unholy conquest and junk like that but in this game you play as several characters throughout the Castlevania history and you fight out the others in one on one battles. Problem is I seen this game get a few bad reviews and sadly I can see why. First off the characters are very emo looking with a nearly shirtless Simon Belmont wearing eye liner and the tough spear wielding Eric from Bloodlines is now a young Justin Bieber-like kid for some odd reason. Weird design or not the fighting game play is highly chaotic since many characters have long range attacks so the game turns into a button masher and strategy goes out the window. It was a good concept but I passed Judgment on this and rated it below average.

DONKEY KONG COUNTRY RETURNS (Nintendo/Retro Studios, November, 2009)

Woohoo, it back and it's 2D! I was really excited to play this one because Retro Studios was making an all new DKC much like the awesome Snes legends. Storyline wise Donkey and Diddy Kong are trying to get their bananas back after they get stolen from evil tikis. The game comes complete with new interactive levels where you have to worry about cool hazards like giant waves and new creepy enemies to fight. I really enjoyed the game and the new graphics were cartoonish but amazing. One thing that bugged me though was the controls require you to shake the Wii-mote to do the infamous roll move which annoyed the heck out of me. Don't worry though because you can easily skip stages if you die too many times so who needs a challenge? DKCR is a great throwback but in the end the game wasn't as good as the originals.

61 ELEBITS (Konami, 2006)
Here's a game I really liked at first because I'm blasting away at annoying cute and tiny creatures with a gun while moving any junk that gets in the way. Unfortunately, I'm not really killing these bugs but I'm gathering their electric energy to get the power back in your town. Capturing more of these annoying things helps to unlock new stages and upgrades your gun so you can lift heavier items too. Elebits can get very repetitive though and the multi-player is just a confusing mess as well but overall it all plays well so Elebits isn't all bad.

77 EXCITE TRUCK (Nintendo, November 19, 2006)

Although the name sounds pretty bad, this semi-sequel to the NES classic Excitebike is still one damn fine game. In this intense racer you still have the chance to boost your vehicle for a burst of speed but now you have hold the Wii-mote to the side with two hand to steer. Unlike most games of this type you win the race if you score enough Star points by going crazy stuff like jumping through hoops, successfully driving around trees, ramming into the other drivers, doing drifts, and lots more. The game's power ups can even give you temporary invincibility and other cool stuff like the ability alter the environment to reveal more jumps on track. The graphics are pretty good but I did notice a lot of pop up and the generic rock music isn't that good either (fortunately, you can add your own tracks with a SD card if you like). Excite Truck sure takes some getting used to and it sucks that it can only be played with up to 2 players via split screen too but once you learn it the game is insanely fast and helluva fun.

40 MANHUNT 2 (Rockstar Games, October 2007)
Are you ready for some horror to come to your Wii? Well, get ready because the highly controversial Manhunt series arrives for the first time on a Nintendo console and it is absolute horrifying ........ horrifyingly bad! In this lame sequel to the overrated original you get play as a mental patience that is trying to escape a high security institution. The strange thing is you are not normally a violent man so you have to figure out just what happened to you. Good story, crap game! The cool thing bringing the series here on the Wii (or at least it was suppose to be cool) to be that you use the motion sensitive features to try and kill your victim by surprise. Good luck doing that because you also use these controls to punch so it may cancel your precious stealth kill altogether. Not like it matters anyway since a lot of the more violent scenes were taken out (the game originally got a 'A' rating) and replaced with insanely dark and blurry images that are hard to make out. The graphics are last gen, the game isn't even close to being as scary as Hollywood movies like Saw, and worse of all the game is too easy.

MARIO KART Wii (Nintendo, April 26, 2008)
Like other Mario Kart games before this before you can still use special weapons like turtle shells, banana peels, and the DS ink shots against your rival drivers but since there are 12 characters on the track at once you'll be attacked much more often now. It can very, very annoying and you have to pray your enemies don't get certain cheap weapons like that stupid Blue Turtle shell! You can even go online with this game too but surprisingly you have play in teams which is still fun but why can't I just do any free for alls? It's not perfect but Mario Kart Wii is still as a lot going for it like cool stages (the new Rainbow Road is very trippy), the music is good, and the multi-player battles are always fun at parties.

69 METROID Other M (Nintendo/Team Ninja, 2009)

OK, now that the awesome but over played Metroid Prime series is done with, Nintendo got a new company to do there second Metroid Wii game here. The cool thing about this one is this game is direct sequel to the critically acclaimed Super Metroid and now Samus is on a mission to rid a planet of space pirates after destroying Mother Brain. The game is now much more story based and you can even hear Samus talk in this too but like every Metroid game you lose the ability to use a lot of your weapons. The only difference now though it's because your former commanding officier won't let you use them till the time is right. Yeah, it's pretty lame. The graphics are great and the new third person view works well but the mostly linear game play and more sensitive Samus here just doesn't make feel like a real Metroid game.

NEW SUPER MARIO BROS. Wii (Nintendo, 2009)
Yup, this is a old fashion 2D Super Mario Bros game released on a advance console and at a full 60 dollar price tag. You know what though, it still rocks! Like almost every other Mario game the princess gets captured and you have to rescue her again. Fortunately, you don't have to do it alone because 4 players can play the game all at the same time believe it or not and it really adds a lot to the game play. You can either help one another out to complete each stage effectively or just be a total jerk and steal power ups, jump on their heads, or even throw their sorry butts in pits. It's short but it's very fun especially with friends.

10 NINJABREADMAN (Datadyne, 2007)

Now this game looks kinda decent at first because it's a cute action platformer starring some gingerbread man with a katana slicing away at evil candy plus it even comes at a budget price too so it could be good, no? Sadly the game is absolutely dreadful with horrible hit detection, iffy jumping psychics, and a camera that is constantly flipping around at directions you don't want. The game looks like it's for kids but it is hard as hell and for all the wrong reasons.

PUNCHOUT!! (Nintendo, May 2009)
Whoa! It's finally back in action after a 15 years laid off. Just like the original NES game you play the role of the small but tough Little Mac that's being trained by former WVBA World Champion Doc Louis. The game isn't really a sequel but a remake where most of the classic characters return like the wimpy Glass Joe and the giant sugar juice loving freak Soda Popinski make a comeback while real life trouble maker Mike Tyson of course don't. The game remains the same where you stand in one place and try to time your counters and dodges to help you get that knock out faster and move up in rank but fortunately the new art style, different challenges, 2 player versus, and dialouge really adds to the experience. It's not a boxing simulaion by any means but Punchout sure plays better then any of those anyways since it's so damn fun.

86 RAYMAN Raving Rabbids (Ubi Soft, November 19, 2006)
*Wii-mote and Nun Chuck required
Those expecting this Rayman game here to play like the older platformer games of the past may be disappointed to find that this edition is just a collection of mini games here. Good thing for us though it is still damn fun to play. In it Rayman and his friends are just minding their own business at a picnic but suddenly they get captured by a huge group of evil bunny rabbits (or rabbids). Now he is forced to compete in several events with the wacky rabbids themselves to find a way to escape. The events range simple tests like tilting a ball through a obstacle course (disgustedly in an rabbid's brain no less), dancing games where you hit the beat at the right moment, and even shooting galleries where you blast away the bunnies with toilet plungers. Some of the games are too short and the controls can be too sensitive at times but with it's solid graphics, cool sounds, funny theme, and tons events here makes Raving Rabbids a great buy.

76 RAYMAN RAVING RABBIDS 2 (UBI soft, 2007)

Those wacky space bunnies are back trying to take over the world and now they are going to places like Mexico, France, and New York to make some trouble and Rayman is here to save the day. Like before the game is a collection of mini games you do everything from having to playing bumper cars on a dangerous high rise building to smack around the Rabbids goofing off in the backseat. Some of the controls feel a bit touchy in some areas but I laughed a lot here and liked it.

46 RED STEEL (Ubi Soft, November 19, 2006)
*Wii-mote and Nun Chuck required
Red Steel was definitely one of the most hyped Nintendo Wii games out there before the system launched but did it live up to it? Sorry, it didn't. In it you play as a man that was just about to marry a beautiful young Japanese girl but the problem is she is the daughter of Yakuza family and she gets kidnapped by rival crime origanizations and it's up to you to save her. Red Steel is pretty much your typical first person shooter but now you have to hold your hands up in the air all the time like a complete moron just to play. To make matters worse aiming on the fly is very difficult here and you'll be shooting at the air a lot when you first start out and the awkward controls while sniping are not much help either. The sword fighting here is pretty cool but you're also forced to put away your guns at this points which seems stupid if these guys have my girlfriend. Red Steel had promise and the slightly bland graphics and sounds are still above average but in the end the game is just a pain in the neck to play.

RESIDENT EVIL 4 (Capcom, 2007)
There is a lot to like and a lot to hate with this game. The new controls really help speed up the intense zombie killing action, there is true widescreen support for owners of those fancy TV's, and the budget price are all great reasons to either play it again or try this huge adventure for the first time. Yeah, it really sucks there is nothing new content-wise for a last generation title but there is no denying Resident Evil 4 is still one of the greatest games ever made and an absolute must play for anyone looking for thrilling action title on the Wii.

39 SPIDERMAN 3 (Activision, 2007)

I wanted to like Spiderman 3 the game on the Wii here but the glitchy graphics, boring missions, and fussy camera makes me believe this one was unfinished and released anyway so it can out at the same time with the movie. Just like in other games of the series like Spiderman 2 and Ultimate Spiderman you can swing freely building to building to get to one of the missions but you'll be swinging the Wii-mote and Nun-chuck around and they are not the most accurate. The camera can be a pain as well since it can fly all over the place and it gets very annoying. If you thought Peter's dancing in the film was lame wait till you play this.

65 STAR SOLDIER R (Hudson Soft, 2007)
*Wii Ware title 800 points
Now this is a strange one to explain. If you are familiar with many of the other Star Soldier games then maybe you remember those 2 minute and 5 minute time trial modes? Well, believe it or not that's all you get here in this game cause there are just a couple of timed mini events and that's it. SSR sounds like a total rip off since there are only two very short levels here but the challenge is getting that high score in the end plus since this is on the Wii you can compare you totals from other players in your country or even over the world. It's a quick ride but competition aspect can really make it addictive.

50 SUPER MARIO ALL STARS (Nintendo, 2010)
To celebrate Super Mario's 25th anniversary Nintendo re-released the game Super Mario All Stars on the Wii. So what improvements did they do to this old SNES title? Um... nothing really. If you play the original All Stars it's exactly the same on the Wii. You still get the four games Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, and The Lost Levels with 16-bit visuals but now you use the Wii-mote to play. The game also comes with a bonus music CD and breif history booklet if you care? Even though these games are still great, the whole package just feels lazy especially for a grand 25th party.

SUPER SMASH BROS. BRAWL (Nintendo, March 2008)
The popular Nintendo franchise bashing fighting game returns and it comes with tons of new characters (including Sonic the Hedgehog and Solid Snake) and features. If you played the other SSB before you'll fell right at home here. The goal in the game is to smack around your rival(s) so they become lighter and lighter and therefore become easier to knock in the air and once you completely sent them flying out of the stage you win (hopefully). The glitchy online play isn't perfect but at least it's there and are a bunch of different other insane modes that will easily have you clued to the TV for months or even years. Its video game crack! If you liked the previous ones then you'll love Super Smash Bros. Brawl, baby!

80 WARIO WARE Smooth Moves (Nintendo, February 2007)
All right, I knew a lot of gamers were looking forward to this one, eh? The game that became famous on the gameboy advance (
Mega Mirco Games) and other consoles now arrives here on the Wii with 200 plus all new interactive second long mini games and more next gen goodies. The game isn't perfect but see why this WW might worth looking like a complete goof over. In the story Wario discovers a ancient Wii-mote and this gets him and the other residents of Diamond City into trouble. Although some events don't seem the most responsive and it can cause you to lose at times, overall the game isn't hard at all and you can unlock everything in one day. Another problem with the game is the graphics and sounds are not that impressive. As soon as you turn it on you'll be greeted with some low budget cinemas with cardboard art and the occasional and generic grunt, hey, laugh and that's pretty much it. This would have been OK on the GBA but here on the Wii it just looks outdated. It isn't all bad because the each mini game has it own cool style and there are no major loading screen either so the game still moves at a frantic pace. Wario Ware SM is way too short but it is still a lot of crazy fun.

63 Wii PLAY (Nintendo, 2007)

Now here is another huge blockbuster for Nintendo. Wii Play sold well into the millions and it features 9 crazy mini games (duck hunting, table tennis, find me's, fishing, cow racing, match me's, pool, table hockey, and some Combat clone) instead of 5 found in Wii Sports. Some versions even included a free Wii-mote controller as part as a package deal which is awesome. It all sounds like a good deal but the game are very repetitive and can get old quick plus that fishing one looks like crap. The games are good with more people over though so it's worth trying out if you like sharing the Wii.

Wii SPORTS (Nintendo, November 19, 2006)
*Nun Chuck controller required for Boxing
If somehow you got your Nintendo Wii without the pack in game Wii Sports here is a review just to see if it even worth your time. The Wii Sports game is a collection of Baseball, Bowling, Boxing, Golf, and Tennis all in one grand disc here. What makes the games so different from anything you ever played before is that you would hold the Wii-mote like the in real life sport. In Baseball for example you actually have to swing the Wii-mote like a real bat to hit the ball believe it or not and the another player can throw the ball anyway they want and that includes moving the Wii-mote just right to make a curve ball. Another thing worth mentioning is some of these games really got me sweating here and you may just burn some calories just from playing especially with that boxing one. Just be sure you have enough room to move around so you don't hit anybody, you don't want to damage the Wii-mote, eh? You can even create your own character on the console (called a Mii) and move that figure right on the game here if you don't want a generic character. Wii Sports is a lot of fun but extended plays here do get very repetitive. In Tennis you actually have no control of the players on the court and in Bowling you only have 2 tries per turn instead of the usual three. Another problem with the game is that the graphics are not that great especially with those ugly fisher price-like character models here. This is no Gears of War. The games definitely lacks the depth you would expect from most of the sport games of today but I guess that's what Nintendo wanted so most players can just jump right into the games. In the end though Wii Sports is a great pack in game because it introduces the player to the advantages of the Wii-mote but you'll still glad you're getting this collection free because chances are you wouldn't want to buy any of these limited titles separately.

71 Wii SPORTS RESORT (Nintendo, 2009)
*Wii Motion Plus required
Here is Wii Sports 2 here and let's see if Nintendo can make lightning strike twice. Well, before you get started here in this game you better have the Wii Motion Plus add on or this game won't work. The game even comes with a built in turorial that you can't skip. Once you deal with all that junk you can finally play the 12 different events that range from the classic bowling and golf to all new ones sword fighting, biking, basketball, and much more. The improved motion control does feel a bit more precise then the standard Wii-mote and mini games work great with it too but it would have been nice to see more new features like longer events.
